- name of the country and where it is located
- type of family: nuclear, extended, matirilineal, patrilineal etc.
- customs and traditions practised
- housing
- typical size
- marriage customs - arranged/free choice
- divorce
- occupations and hours of work
- roles of family members
- treatment of children
- responsibility for children
- responsibility for aging members of the family
- connections or influences of this culture in Canadian families
